We round-up our design picks of the moment
Above Few things beat relaxing with a nice cup of coffee, and now Sue Ure's new range is set to make it an even better experience. The simple, contemporary collection of mugs (£23), jugs (£18) and cups (£19) are hand-thrown from stoneware and porcelain and come with clean, clear lines. Each piece in the collection has been thrown, glazed and fired in her studio in the South of France. They come in black, pink, white and taupe.
Below After more fun and spontaneity in your home's decor? Then Scion's new rug collection, created in association with Brink & Campman, could be worth considering. The range is comprised of a number of funky rugs in a range of colours, which have been adapted from, or inspired by, Scion's most popular designs. Choose between Blok, Kukkia, Lintu, Sula and Tetra – available from mid April.
Redefining a classic
Below Did you know Alape unveiled their new series of designs at this year's ISH show? The new range will present aesthetic solutions, combining clarity and precision with unique style. For instance, there's the new Scipio range where Alape has reinterpreted and redefined the appearance of the classic basin. The design of the five Scipio products works on two geometrics – a circular basin mould and a tapered telescopic external shape, hence the Scipio name.
Below Amara is getting ready for summer with the launch of their new collection of all-weather outdoor soft furnishings. The range is ideal for those who love relaxing outdoors and turn their gardens into an extension of their living space, without the added worry of damaging furnishings. Working with Italian brand Mariaflora, Amara have produced a seven piece collection which consists of a mix of cushions and throws. Each piece has been created by using fabrics woven with an 100 per cent acrylic solution, which is robust enough to repel both water and oil, is stain and mould resistant, and also keeps it's colour in sunlight. Unlike a number of other all-weather furnishings, the new collection also provides comfort. The end result? Not only a practical addition, but also a welcomed one.
