'For those looking to be bold in the bathroom, bright shades will liven up the space in 2017,' says Sarah Harris, brand manager at Zucchetti.Kos. 'Pantone’s Colour of the Year is a vibrant, earthy tone called Greenery and the trend of having hues inspired by the outdoors will continue into the home with shades of sky blue and sunshine yellow.'

To create an 'urban outdoors experience' in your bathroom, try introducing wood effect and exotic surfaces plus other natural materials. 'Contrasting natural looks and textures with modern metals will offer an exciting juxtaposition of global influences in the contemporary home,' says Harris.

Experimenting with the botanical look further, and reflecting the increasingly blurred line between the living and bathroom spaces, C.P. Hart’s in-house design team have worked with the East London brand House of Hackney to develop two new roomsets at their flagship showroom in Waterloo. Exploring the theme of ‘Adventures in the Urban Jungle’, the designs explore the changing nature of the modern, urban bathroom.

'The bathroom is one of our favourite rooms in the house', says House of Hackney co-founder Frieda Gormley. 'We started with creating moodboards pulling together our ideas and inspiration for bathrooms, gravitating towards a quartz pink scheme and a moody and verdant ink scheme. From here we incorporated key materials across metals and marbles which were luxurious new elements for us to work into the schemes, an from there the final designs were created.'
