Want to find out the latest trends and directions for interior design for the year ahead? If so, you shouldn't miss this inspiring show in the stylish city of Paris. 'Silence' has been announced as this year's theme which is going to explore how our homes are adapting to the current times where technology and media are prominent. Expect to be in awe of design that will attempt to rediscover calmness, with lighter materials, uncluttered and more minimalist style and luxurious objects that will restore meaning and peace to our living spaces. Plus, keep an eye out for Designer of the Year Pierre Charpin and also the collaborations as part of the Rising Talent Awards where six renowned designers have each nominated an emerging designer – names to look out for include Marcin Rusak, John Booth, Giles Miller, Studio Swine, Zuza Mengham and Sebastian Cox.

Stockholm Design Week
With the Danish word hygge being one of the most talked about concepts in design recently, we're so excited to see what the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair has to offer this year. Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon (pictured below) is set to be the Guest of Honour and what's exciting is that he'll be creating an installation in the Stockholmsmässan’s entrance hall. Also, if you're visiting the city and have some time to explore, there are also more than 80 design events being held in the surrounding area.

When? 6th-12th February

London Design Week
Hosted at the beautiful Design Centre in London's Chelsea Harbour, you can learn and explore at this year's show which has a theme called 'Science of Design'. Designers and architects alike will come from all over the UK and overseas to discover the latest innovations and hot topics at the moment. A packed programme means there's not online discovery tours and trails but there's also workshops with specialists and a great line-up of influencers and speakers at the Conversations in Designs sessions.

When? 12th-14th March (trade preview), 15th-17th March (all welcome) 
Where? Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour


Ideal Home Show 

With an abundance of must-see highlights, especially if you're looking for home and garden inspiration, this show has something for everyone. The Ideal theatres are the place where you can catch TV celebrities giving interior styling and home improvement advice and demonstrations. Plus, the Ideal roomsets and Ideal Show gardens are worth a visit.

When? 24th March-9th April

Stockholm fair


Grand Designs Live
Running for 9 days, this show is a must-visit if you're in the midst of planning a home renovation project or planning and looking for inspiration for your home. It's based on the Channel 4 TV series and presented by design guru Kevin McCloud who will be taking to the stage for discussions and talks along with many other industry experts who can help answer your questions. You'll get the chance to see over 500 exhibitors across six different sectors including building, kitchens, bathrooms, technology, gardens and interiors.

When? 29th April-7th May

Clerkenwell Design Week
Taking place over three days, this yearly anticipated event will host design brands from around the world as well as homegrown talent. You can expect to visit a variety of exhibitions, installations and live events across 120 spaces, including the multitude of showrooms in the area. As you wander the streets of Clerkenwell, taking in the excitement and good vibes of everyone excited about this event, make sure you keep an eye out for the special installations that will pop up. It's celebrating its 8th birthday this year and promises to showcase over 300 exhibiting brands.

When? 23rd-25th May
Where? In various showrooms and locations around Clerkenwell
