We may not be quite there yet when it comes to the spring weather (although, much to our excitement, we've had some hope with bright, sunny days and spotted a few daffodils popping up here and there) however this just means there's even more reason to add a touch of this fresh and uplifting season in to your home now.

Bringing the outside in to your bedroom is a great way to feel relaxed and rejuvenated. For example, this doesn't need to involve a huge overall – it's more a matter of simply adding hints of fresh blooms and leafy greens, floral patterns, nature-inspired colours and light materials such as wicker and rattan.

Green is a key colour to use whether you choose to go for the deeper shades in the palette such as basil or moss or the softer hues including pear or mint. Be inspired by a botanical theme and use plants to frame a window or decorate a desk or dressing table. We love the cute, colourful pots from Bloomingville that are ideal for keeping small cactuses (above).

When it comes to your bed linen, start with a botanical print as inspiration and let the colours in the detail set the mood. Natural materials, soft textures and crisp white sheets will create layers for a relaxed and laid-back look.
